MZH is the standard corn header designed by Nardi. Its stalk chopper is placed in central position at the end of the row unit and directly connected to the gearbox. It rotates at 2.300 rpm.

MZH AVANT Chopper

The MZH AVANT differs from the standard MZH model in the chopper’s position. Indeed, the chopper is installed in a forward position relative to the transmission and connected to it thorugh a PTO shaft . The blades are located in the middle of the row unit and are slightly offset. The blades cover the length of the milking rollers and are protected by plates. With 3.200 rpm, they immediately cut the stalk as soon as it is channeled by the rollers.

Bonnets and tips

Nardi Maizestorm MZH with 70-75-80 cm of row spacing mounts as standards plastic bonnets equipped with steel plates on the contact area between the row unit and the plant stalk, in order to prevent wear and tear (optional steel bonnets upon request). The plastic tips have a Hardox steel cap which ensures protection against wear and tear caused by ground friction.

Steel bonnets come as standard for other row
spacings.

Row group and harvesting chains

The row unit is composed is composed by harvesting chains held in correct tension by a dedicated ted spring system in a handy position which can be easily adjusted. It is possible to to adjust by electrical or hydraulic control the distance of the harvesting deck plates depending on the conditions of the plants in order to reduce losses.

Milking rollers

The milking rollers channel the stalk toward the copper. The counter-rotating rollers with four adjustable tungsten carbide knives ensure that stalks get pre-chopped and harvested neatly.

Their tips are helical-conical shaped to better channel the stalk and a knife scraper prevents grass wrapping around the roller.

The auger ensures a continuous and fluent flow of product to the combine’s channel.

Stalk crusher

The Stalk Crusher Kit is necessary to prevent wear and tear on the combine harvester’s tires. Its function is to flatten the minimal part of the stalk that remains in the field after chopping in the same path of the tires, allowing the tire to pass over it without damaging the rubber.

The Side Augers ensure better product flow and containment at any harvesting speed. They can be installed in pairs, so at left and right, or individually, depending con customer’s work requirements.
